Biography

Ambient Designer, Pacific Northwest Region

Anyone that crosses the path of JOanne is enveloped by her positivity and commitment to customer service above and beyond the call of duty.  “The power of positivity is powerful and can help transform someone’s day,” says Vancouver-based Craft. “I love people, and it’s the people aspect of my job that drives me to be at my best each and every day to ensure that we exceed our customer’s expectations.”

As a passionate and dedicated person with a keen eye for detail, JOanne loves creating ambiences for businesses which enrich the work experience and enable customers to thrive. JOanne’s attention to style and service benefits a wide variety of hospitality, retail, transportation, and commercial real estate clients across the Pacific Northwest.  If you have been dazzled by the green interior landscape designs seen in Vancouver International Airport’s International area, across Canada’s HSBC Banks or in the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel or Westin Resort and Spa Hotel, you have seen just a few examples of JOanne’s stunning plantscaping initiatives created by her talented horticultural team.

Prior to joining Ambius in 1997 as a Branch Manager, JOanne, a graduate of St. John’s College in Brantford, Ontario, worked in the hospitality sector for over a decade in a variety of service and management positions for leading Canadian hotels. JOanne began her career at the Delta Chelsea Hotel in Toronto and climbed the hospitality ranks to become Executive Housekeeper of the Delta Mountain Inn Hotel in Whistler, British Columbia where she had to ensure everything was spic-and-span clean while overseeing the property’s operations including budget, inventory, recruiting, payroll and landscaping and ground maintenance.  JOanne, who completed a two year Management training program with Delta Hotels as a Housekeeping Manager, was subsequently promoted and transferred to assume executive duties at the Delta Mountain Inn.

An active volunteer fundraiser with BC Children’s Hospital Foundation since 1997, JOanne is passionate about giving back to the community and believes that volunteering is the most fundamental act of citizenship.

When she’s not hard at work, JOanne, an animal lover who lives with her husband, Paul, and three pets, can be found kick-boxing at the gym, or blowing bubbles with Pajo, her bilingual, chatty African Grey parrot that speaks over 300 words; singing with her Ringnecked Parakeet known as “Yellow;” or dressing in the same pink frocks favored by Tequila the Chihuahua.
