Another Olympic-level effort

I was watching the Winter Olympics the other day and was pleased to see the medal winners being presented not just with medals but also with flowers. Reader Peggy Walsh-Craig from the Canadian Ornamental Plant Foundation (COPF) noted the same thing to me in an e-mail.
I love that. I mean, they’re not handing out iPhones or gift cards, they’re handing out flowers. If that doesn’t show how high up our stuff ranks, I don’t know what does.
On another gold-medal note, give interiorscape firm Ambius a medal for the installations they’ve done at the Olympic games. They’ve provided plants for the Whistler Olympic Park Nordic Centre and the Austria house, to name a few venues. The Olympic Park specified Norfolk Island pines to help represent the West Coast theme. Other plants you might spot while watching the games include podocarpus, ficus and dracaena.
