At Ambius we believe in bringing your visions to life by designing, installing, and servicing consistently superior experiences that showcase the Power of Plants. This week, we’re wrapping up our #AwardWinningAugust celebration – and yes, we know it’s September. We had so many designs to recognize that it took us nearly a month and a half to do it.
In case you missed it on our LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram social channels, we’ve spent the last six weeks showcasing projects that were recognized at this year’s International Plantscape Awards, held during AmericanHort’s annual Cultivate Conference.
It is an incredible honor to be recognized even once…but this year, Ambius took home a stunning 39 awards! This year, 22 designers from 18 different Ambius districts and our Design and Construction Projects team were among the honorees.
What are the International Plantscape Awards?

AmericanHort is North America’s largest organization of landscaping and horticultural professionals. The organization presents the International Plantscape Awards each year, honoring outstanding interior plantscaping projects and designs from across North America. Projects are entered into one of 10 categories and judged by veteran professional interior plantscapers. In 2019, Ambius designers won awards for projects in seven different categories.
Celebrating beautiful designs and the companies behind them
The 39 Ambius awards celebrate biophilia, the beauty of plants, whimsy and wonder, and the forward-thinking companies that embrace the range of benefits that plants can have in the built environment. The companies behind these installations vary from healthcare and oncology centers to offices, shopping centers and more, presenting design challenges and creating heartwarming stories for both our customers and our designers. Contact us today to speak with our design team and you just might find a place on the list in 2020.

“Helping our customers create spaces that enhance the well-being of people and highlight functional design has never been more important,” said John Myers, President and CEO of Rentokil North America, the parent company of Ambius. “We are honored to partner with our customers on these projects and are especially proud to receive recognition from our industry peers. These awards speak to the talent and vision of our designers, as well as our entire organization’s commitment to world-class service.”

Why add plants to your environment?
While the beauty and aesthetic power of plants have long been recognized by businesses, incorporating plants and nature into indoor environments has never been more important to human health.
In a 2018 study of 1,000 office workers, Ambius found that 35% spend a maximum of 15 minutes outside, excluding time spent commuting. An additional 13% spend a maximum of 30 minutes outside, while only 26% answered that they spend more than an hour outside each day.
Modern research shows that biophilic commercial spaces, designed to connect humans with nature, can have dramatic health and wellness benefits. These benefits transfer to the business through improved employee health and attendance, job satisfaction, and more. This is reflected in the rising prevalence of standards such as LEED, WELL Building, and FitWel, which all revolve around increasing buildings’ abilities to positively impact the environment and health of occupants.
