Oakland Ironworks | San Francisco
Only two blocks from the water, the Oakland Ironworks District is at the center of the Bay Area’s transportation nexus. Metrovation ownership was tasked to reduce their water usage immediately with the extreme California drought. The plants surrounding the buildings were a major source of water use issues the client was facing, as they were not drought-tolerant.
They reached out to Ambius to help assist in keeping a beautifully designed landscape. They also wished to modify the existing landscapes to be more water-friendly. A redesigned irrigation system and the use of drought tolerant plant materials was the end-result of our design. Their water use invoice was greatly reduced and they are saving an estimated 6,000 gallons annually since the landscape upgrades were installed.
