Scent machines and fragrance safety

Premium Scenting Fragrance Safety

As industry leaders, we are committed to fragrance safety.

We pride ourselves on our consultative approach, the quality of our patented products, and the consistent standard of our service around the world.

Premium Scenting machines for commercial businesses

Premium Scenting scent machines are flexible and can be used to scent spaces of any size -- from a small room to an entire building. More importantly, there is no need for you to worry about installation or maintenance. Our fully-trained Ambius team members will install the units and then return on a regular basis to replace and refresh the fragrance without disrupting your employees or customers.

Why are Premium Scenting machines different?

Ambius Premium Scenting machines provide optimal results because:

  • They are ecologically-friendly, innovative and safe.
  • The ingredients used in Ambius units are completely pure and manufactured to the highest standards.
  • By using Ambius Premium Scenting, you can earn points toward a LEED certification.
  • This technology enables you to take a safe and sustainable approach to enhancing your environment.
  • The patented AirQ technology uses air, not propellants or solvents that contain potentially harmful volatile organic compounds.
  • Skin contact risk in Premium Scenting is low, so dermal allergies are negligible.
  • The Premium Scenting systems are versatile. They can be installed in a variety of inconspicuous locations with table mount, wall mount, track mount, or HVAC mount formats.

Premium Scenting safety standards

Fragrance components are regulated by many different legislations globally. Our internal regulatory requirements not only meet but exceed standards set by:

  • International Fragrance Association (IFRA)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration
    • Subpart Z (Toxic and Hazardous Substances)
  • State of California Proposition 65
  • Environmental Protection Agency
    • Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
    • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Control Regulations
  • Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM)
    • Standards for Continuous Inhalation

We share IFRA’s values for the fragrance industry, to be environmentally sound, socially acceptable and economically viable, through partnership and dialogue, to invest in improving the sustainability of raw materials, processing of essential oils and the manufacture of fragrance blends.

How Ambius ensures fragrance safety

We strive to provide an environmentally sustainable approach by using very small volumes of fragrance and equipment which consumes very little energy during operation.

Under normal use, none of our fragrances approach Workplace Exposure Levels. We carry out calculations using extreme situations to ensure very high safety margins. Concentrated fragrance in liquid form can be an irritant to eyes and skin. When used in products, there should be no exposure to the concentrated fragrance itself, therefore reducing the likelihood of any hazards. In our Premium Scenting units, concentrated exposure does not occur, reducing the risk further. Additionally, Premium Scenting fragrances do not contain any known respiratory sensitizers as required by the IFRA Code of Practice.

After service visits to Premium Scenting equipment, any replaced fragrance cartridges are returned to the service office. These cartridges can go down two basic disposal routes: (1) retained for sample testing or (2) introduced to our approved waste disposal stream for hazardous waste, and will be disposed of through third-party contractors that are permitted to handle hazardous chemicals.

We choose our waste disposal partners based on their dedication to good sustainability practices and ethics that are reflective of the ethos of our company at large.
