University Town Center | Sarasota
The Mall at University Town Center is a world-class fashion and dining destination featuring Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Dillard's, and more than 100 stores and restaurants. The grand opening of the Bay area's newest mall was celebrated in October of 2014. Ambius became involved in the project during the design and development period. We worked with the landscape architect from the conceptual design phase through the installation phase. This relationship ensured delivery of a project that exceeded our client's expectations.
The refined contemporary interior landscape consists of 40’ tall preserved date palms, 24’ tall preserved coconut palms, and 8’ and 12’ bamboos. The list of smaller plants includes preserved sago palm, Bird of Paradise, Sansevieria, Bromeliads, and Pittosporum bushes. A total of 112 free-standing pots are distributed throughout the center. The Plantscape not only beautifies the building's interior, but also adds value to this development by making the space more welcoming, and encouraging shoppers to stay longer and spend more.
